What are the different types of Wood Chippers?

Diesel Wood Chippers – The wood chipper’s engine uses fuel to produce rotational motion to drive the chipping knives which chip the tree limbs.

Portable Gasoline Wood Chippers – The most prevalent type of wood chipper is the gasoline wood chipper.  The same fuel used to power our cars and lawn mowers can be used to power gasoline wood chippers.

Electric Wood Chippers – Electric wood chippers are powered by home electric power.  They are not as powerful as gasoline or diesel powered chippers but require much less maintenance.

PTO Wood Chippers – Power Take Off wood chippers are powered by the hydraulics of a tractor that has a PTO.  PTO Chippers are powerful and have fewer moving parts as there is not a dedicated engine on the chipper.

What are the different names for Wood Chippers?

Wood Chippers are called Brush Chippers, Chipper / Mulchers, Chipper / Shredders, Diesel Wood Chippers, Electric Wood Chippers, and Wood Chippers.
